Both Swiss and foreign nationals may rent a safe deposit box. Corporate clients and legal entities are also welcome; authorised representatives must be designated in writing at signing.

Rental is annual. If the box is not cleared and keys returned by the end of the term, the agreement continues on an open-ended basis until formally terminated by the renter.

Golden Suisse's duty of care over its vault facility applies to all renters automatically. Swiss residents may additionally benefit from their household contents policy (Hausratversicherung). For dedicated, itemised coverage, we facilitate an introduction to our partner at Zurich Insurance - there is no obligation, and the process is straightforward.

Safe deposit boxes are intended for the storage of valuables in the strict sense. Permitted items include precious metals, coins, and bullion (held separately from vault-allocated storage); jewellery, gemstones, and watches; title deeds, wills, contracts, and estate documents; securities, share certificates, and data carriers; passports, residency documents, and identity records; works of art and collectibles of appropriate dimensions; and cash and currency. Storage of other items requires Golden Suisse's explicit prior consent. Items posing any risk to other clients or to the facility are not permitted.

Access is available during Golden Suisse’s opening hours. To enter the vault area, you must present your key and verify your identity by signature. If both keys are held by Golden Suisse at your request, you must instead present a valid passport or identity card.

Each box is issued with two keys, which are normally handed to the renter upon signing. A third part may access your box under a written power of attorney deposited with Golden Suisse in advance - templat forms are available from our team. Two or more persons may also jointly rent a box, each with individua disposal rights unless otherwise agreed in writing. All joint renters are jointly and severally liable.

If all keys are lost, forced opening can be arranged in the presence of the renter or an authorise person, at the renter’s expense. The loss of any key must be reported to Golden Suisse immediately.

Access is managed with the discretion our clients expect. Identity is verified by signature comparison at each visit. Specific questions about access records can be addressed directly with our team.

The contents of your safe deposit box are your property at all times and do not form part of Golden Suisse's balance sheet. In any insolvency proceedings, your valuables are not available to creditors and remain fully retrievable by you or your legal successors.
